Nicole Fisher

Graduate Student

     B.S.  Biochemistry, Miami University, 2014

Biosketch and Research Interests
Nicole graduated from Miami University where she majored in biochemistry and minored in neuroscience. While at Miami, Nicole performed research in the lab of Dr. Christopher Makaroff where she studied the role of cohesin proteins in the cell cycle. Additionally, Nicole completed two summer internships with Proctor & Gamble in Cincinatti, Ohio.

After completing her first year through Vanderbilt's Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences, Nicole joined the Conn Lab in the spring of 2015. Her graduate work focuses on validating metabotropic glutamate receptors as therapeutic targets for Rett Syndrome and MeCP2 Duplication Syndrome. To accomplish this, she employs biochemical, electrophysiological, and behavioral techniques to study mouse models of these diseases.
