Biosketch and Research Interests
Douglas Shaw joined the Conn lab in August 2016 as a research intern after graduating from the University of Kentucky with a BS in Biology and Psychology. He currently works with Dr. Daniel O’Brien on molecular pharmacology studies to help characterize and develop potential allosteric mGlu2 tool compounds. Additional he helps perform stereotaxic surgery to express channelrhodopsin in identified brain circuits that are studied for schizophrenia and Huntington’s disease. He plans on attending graduate school in the Fall of 2017.
